The emulsification of chloroprene rubber was investigated on various emulsifiers with mechanical emulsification method, the graft polymerization of various monomers on chloroprene rubber was carried out with benzoyl peroxide in toluene and the application to adhesive was studied on its latex. It was found that anionic emulsifier, sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate (SDBS) and nonionic emulsifier, polyoxyethylene nonylphenyl ether(NP-1025) were effective for the emulsification of chloroprene rubber, and latex obtained by these emulsifiers was better than the emulsification state. As increasing the graft ratio of CR, latex of CR modified with the graft polymerization of methyl methacrylate(MMA) had high peel strength in the bond of rubber and peel strength was found to be improved when homopolymer of that was removed.
