The purpose of this paper is to come up with a solution to the North Korea`s nuclear crisis through close examination of EU-North Korean Policy and the EU`s role in solving the Korea Problem. The fundamental position of the EU is against North Korea`s nuclear possession and of the entire Korean peninsula`s nuclear involvement. The EU has strongly urged the DPRK to take immediate steps to dismantle the programme in verifiable manner and comply with its international commitment. In addition, the EU holds that a peaceful foreign policy should be carried out alongside pressuring the DPRK while also in agreement with the policy that a close cooperative relationship with US should exist. Though the EU does not directly concern the security of the Korean peninsula, increasing involvement of the EU ist expected as the North Korean nuclear issues is no longer a matter concerning just the US and North East Asia but has escalated into becoming a greater international problem. Considering DPRK-EU relations and that the EU is the member of Executive Board of KEDO, although direct involvement of the EU in the North Korea`s nuclear problem will be difficult, the EU should play a constructive role in drawing out positive changes from the North through cooperative relations with the South and strategic cooperation with the US.
