In the light of big functions of container liner transport, this paper aimed to consider the legal principles of door to door transport, especially under the carriage of goods by sea, through some international conventions, draft instrument such as UNCITRAL/CMI Draft Instrument on Transport Law or Draft US COGSA 1999 as well as some uniform rules on multimodal transport. To achieve this object, writer, after reviewing relevant provisions of those conventions and uniform rules, analysed in detail the few provisions concerned door to door or multimodal transport of UNCITRAL/CMI Draft Instrument. In conclusion he expressed his own view relating to some problems needed to study in Korea Commercial Code.
