본 연구는 주의력결핍 과잉행동 특성을 보이는 아동의 사회적 이해와 행동을 연구하였다. 사회적 이해 과제는 조망 수용, 공감, 사회적 상황 이해, 고통에 대한 반응성을 측정하였고, 사회적 행동과제는 친사회적 행동, 잠재적 공격성, 외현적 공격성을 측정하였다. 연구 결과, 사회적 이해의 경우 주의력결핍 과잉행동 특성을 보이는 아동은 정상 아동에 비해 조망수용, 공감, 고통에 대한 반응성이 부족하였고, 사회적 상황 이해에서는 주의력결핍 과잉행동 특성을 보이는 아동과 정상아동 간에 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 사회적 행동의 경우 주의력결핍 과잉행동 특성을 보이는 아동이 정상 아동에 비해 친사회적 행동을 적게 나타냈으며 공격적인 행동을 많이 나타내었다. 이런 결과는 주의력결핍 과잉행동 특성을 보이는 아동이 정상 아동과 비교해서 사회적 이해와 행동에 손상이 있다는 것을 시사한다. 마지막으로, 본 연구의 임상적 의의와 제한점 및 미래 연구에 대한 제언이 논의되었다.

The present study investigated social understanding and behaviors in children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD). Measure of social understanding included perspective taking, empathy, social context understanding, and concern to distress. Measures of social behavior included prosocial behaviors, potential aggression, and externalized aggression. In social understanding measures, children with ADHD showed less perspective taking, empathy, and concern to distress competence than children with non-ADHD. The measure of social context understanding was not significantly different between children with ADHD and non-ADHD. In social behavior measures, children with ADHD showed less prosocial behavior and more aggressive behavior than children with non-ADHD. The measure of social context understanding was not significantly different between children with ADHD and non-ADHD. Consequently, children with ADHD showed impairment of social understanding and behaviors. Finally, clinical implication and limitations of this research were discussed, and the suggestions for further research were discussed.
