This paper had three purposes; firstly, to express my deepest regret to our hero, the late Mr. Son, Ki-Chong, secondly, to search for the possibility of expanding the study area in sport history subdivisions, and lastly, to recognize well of the social·cultural situations in those days by means of surveying two Odes. The ancient Greeks had high regard the winners of the ancient Olympic Games and the other pan-hellenic games as an idols for the nations. This kind of respects had come out to be as triumphal celebration, erecting statues, the odes and the other memorials. To become protagonists in the Odes was the most glorious one among them. These odes were recited not only by all the youth of the winners states, but also by the all hellenic people, and especially gymnasium students and minstrels. Pindar from Thebes was the master poet of the days. Son, Ki-Chung, the great marathoner of Korea dominated the Berlin stadium in 1936. Under Japanese rule, this fact made all Koreans taste great catharsis and national prides, and inspired the nation`s independent aspiration like torch in the night. But in spite of his victory, we could not discover any joyous mood on his face. Sim Hoon, the enlightening novelist in modem times of our country was the great thinker who devoted himself to enlightened the farmers. He was once a member of the K. A. P. F. On the ninth of August in 1936, no sooner had he heard the news that Son and Nam won the Marathon race than he wrote the odes in celebration of their victories titled " Oh, Korean Youth !- To Son and Nam, Our two winners who won the marathon race in Berlin- ". His ode was the first sport odes in our country yet. Roughly same time, Lee Chung wrote the other ode in commemoration of Son`s winning written in chines. Now, it is commonly acknowledged that our country had already arrived up to the highest level in the sport over the world. But the study on the odes are under level. Upon this opportunity of surveying these Odes, we should have extend the wider divisions in our sport culture.
