본고는 誠庵古書博物館에 소장되어 있는 周本『華嚴經』 卷36에 기입되어 있는 點吐口訣을 해독하는 것을 목표로 한다. 이 자료에 나타나는 點吐를 형태에 따라 분류하면 單點, 雙點, 線, 눈썹, 느낌標의 5 가지가 있다. 이 中 單點을 除外한 나머지 4 가지 點吐는 主軸의 方向이 垂直, 水平, 斜線, 逆斜線의 네 가지로 나타난다. 본고는 點吐의 해독을 위해 特히 字吐 釋讀口訣 資料인 『華嚴經』 卷14 및 『華嚴經疏』卷35에 記入된 字吐口訣과의 對應 樣相에 注目하였다. 이들 자료의 동일한 구문에 나타나는 특징적인 懸吐 양상을 살펴봄으로써 點吐와 字吐의 대응 관계를 귀납해 보려 한 것이다. 본고에서 검토한 구문은 ①`爲N` 구문, ②"V己` 구문, ③세목 열거 구문, ④`等` 구문, ⑤`作/爲N` 구문, ⑥命名 구문, ⑦請願 구문, ⑧引用 구문, ⑨역접 구문이다. 이러한 비교의 결과, 點吐 資料 周本 『華嚴經』과 字吐 資料 『華嚴經』의 懸吐 양상이 매우 비슷하며, 이것은 點吐 및 字吐 『瑜伽師地論』의 현토 양상과 매우 다르다는 결론에 도달하였다.

This paper aims at interpreting Mark Gugyeols(点吐口訣) written in Zhouben(周本) ≪Huayan jing(華嚴經)≫ volume 36 which is in Seong-am Classics Museum(誠庵古書博物館). These Mark Gugyeols include ① single points(單点), ② double points(쌍점), ③ lines(線), ④ marks which look like eyebrows, and ⑤ marks which look like exclamation marks. The four except single points appear in four orientations； horizontal, vertical, slant and backward slant. These Mark Gugyeols together with their corresponding Character Gugyeols are summarized in the Appendix. The correspondences shown in the Appendix can be obtained by comparing constructions of the same type which appear in both Mark Gugyeol and Character Gugyeol materials. For this purpose, I examine nine construction types： i.e. ① `爲N` construcion, which means "for the sake of N", ② `V已` construcion, which means "after having done ……", ③ enumerating construction, ④ `等`(etc) construcion, ⑤ `爲/爲N` construction, which means "become N", ⑥ naming construction, ⑦ requesting construction, ⑧ quotation construction. ⑨ contrasting construction. These comparisons results in surprisingly exact match between Mark Gugyeols and Character Gugyeols used in materials belonging to 『Huayan jing(華嚴經)』. Therefore, we can conclude that the difference between Mark Gugyeol and Character Gugyeol is only apparent, and is not so much profound as between Huayan zong(華嚴經) and Faxiang zong(法相宗).
