최근 선진국 자동차시장은 부진을 면치 못하고 있는 가운데 중국 자동차시장은 급속도로 성장하고 있다. 특히 2001년 WTO 가입을 계기로 중국자동차 시장은 예상보다 빠른 성장률을 보이고 있다. 본 논문은 이미 모터라이제이션을 경험한 국가로부터 모터라이제이션에 진입하기 위한 조건을 도출하고 이를 기초로 중국 자동차시장이 모터라이제이션에 진입할 가능성을 검토함과 아울러 모터라이제이션 진입시점을 추정하고자 하는데 목적이 있다. 분석결과 중국 자동차시장은 일부 성에서 이미 모터라이제이션에 진입하였으며 2006년 이후로는 본격적인 모터라이제이션이 진행될 것으로 추정되었다.

China Automotive Industry has been growing rapidly in spite of being stagnant in the industry of the developed country. Especially, after the entrance as one membership of the official WTO in 2001, China is showing the growth rate respectively in the auto market. This paper has the objective in viewing the prospect of the starting point for motorization in china automotive market by testing possibility and condition of the motorization in the market. As a result of the study, the china automotives market will begin the mortorization on 2006, while several regions will have already entered the motorization.
