본 연구의 목적은 흡연 청소년을 대상으로 흡연 행동에 영향을 미치는 요인으로 성격유형과 흡연동기 · 갈망 · 니코틴 의존에 초점을 맞추어 살펴보고, 흡연 갈망을 유발하는 환경적 자극을 알아보는 것이다. 흡연 청소년 118명(남학생 81명, 여학생 37명)을 대상으로 자기보고식 성격유형 · 흡연동기 · 흡연갈망 · 니코틴의존과 흡연연구 질문지를 통해 자료를 수집하였다. 분석 결과, 청소년은 `휴식 및 지루함`이라는 동기로 흡연 행동을 지속하며 이것은 또한 흡연에 대한 갈망을 일으키는 가장 예측력 있는 요인(F-36.464,p< .001)임을 확인하였다. 신경증적 · 중독적 · 범죄적 성격특성은 사회적 매력을 제외한 모든 동기에 의해 흡연을 하는 것으로 나타났으며, 정신병적(t=2.747,p< .008), 신경증적(t=1.8995,p< .057), 범죄적(t=2.448,p< .018) 성격특성은 높은 갈망 수준을 보고하였다. 흡연갈망을 유발하는 환경적 자극으로, `집`이라는 장소와 물건으로는 흡연과 직접적 관련이 있는 `담배`, `재떨이`에서 강한 흡연에 대한 욕구를 느끼는 것을 알 수 있다.

The purpose of this study was to examine the factors which influence to adolescent smoking behavior focus on personality, motivation, craving and nicotine dependence as well as to identify smoking craving stimulus. We collected data from self-reports of 118 high school student smokers(81 males, 37 females) completed the Eysenck Personality scale, Smoking Motivation Questionnaire, Questionnaire Smoking Urges, modified Fagerstrom Tolerance Questionnaire and Smoking survey Questionnaire. Results of this study show that adolescents smoke for `Restful & Relaxing` motivation and this is the strongest predictive factor(F=36.464, p<.001) on smoking craving. Neurotic, Psychotic and Criminal adolescents smoke for all of motivation except `social Attractiveness`. Personality was associated with the score on smoking craving, with more psychotic(t=2.747, p<.008), neurotic(t=1.955, p<.057), criminal (t=2.448, p<.018) adolescents scoring higher on the craving. We can identify that Adolescents experience high craving to smoke `home` situation and smoke related materials such as `a pack of cigarettes`, `ashtray`.
