본 연구에서는 ADHD 아동의 어머니와 정서장애 아동의 어머니, 그리고 일반 아동의 어머니를 대상으로 양육 스트레스와 우울감, 부모 효능감의 정도와 차이를 알아보고, ADHD 아동의 부모교육과 상담과정에서 활용하고자 한다. 연구대상은 ADHD로 진단된 아동의 어머니 29명, 정서장애를 가진 아동의 어머니 19명, 일반 아동의 어머니 36명이었다. 이들 세 집단의 어머니에게 양육스트레스척도, 우울감척도, 부모효능감척도를 실시하였다. 그 결과, 양육 스트레스와 우울감은 ADHD 아동의 어머니와 정서장애 아동의 어머니 집단에서 모두 일반아동의 어머니 집단에 비해 통계적으로 유의하게 높은 결과를 보였다. 부모 효능감에 있어서는 하위 요인인 ‘부모로서의 효능감’은 정서장애 아동 어머니가 일반아동 어머니에 비해 유의하게 낮았으나, ADHD 아동 어머니 집단은 정서장애 아동 어머니 집단이나 일반아동 어머니 집단에 비해 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았다. ‘부모로서의 불안감’은 ADHD 아동 어머니가 일반 아동 어머니에 비해 더 높은 것으로 나타났다. 양육스트레스, 우울감, 부모로서의 효능감, 부모로서의 불안감과의 상관분석에서는 양육스트레스가 높을수록 부모로서의 불안감은 높으며, 우울감도 높은 것으로 나타났다. 또한 우울감이 높을수록 부모로서의 효능감은 낮고, 부모로서의 불안감은 높은 것으로 나타났다. 한편, ADHD의 하위유형이나 증상정도에 따른 어머니 변인의 차이를 알아보았다. 한국 아동 인성(KPI-C)검사의 과잉행동(HPR)척도에서 점수가 높을수록 주의력 결핍-과잉행동장애가 심한 것으로 평가하였다. ADHD의 하위 유형에 따라서는 어머니의 양육스트레스, 우울감, 부모효능감에서 유의한 차이를 보이지 않았지만, 증상의 정도에 따라서는 증상이 심할수록 어머니의 양육스트레스가 많고, 우울감이 높으며, 부모로서의 불안감이 높은 것으로 나타났으나, 부모로서의 효능감에서는 유의미한 차이가 없었다.

The purpose of this study is to apply parental education and counseling through investigating the parenting stress, depression, parenting efficacy on the mothers of ADHD children, emotional disorder children and normal children. The subjects are composed of 29 mothers of ADHD children, 19 mothers of emotional disorder children, and 36 mothers of normal children. The mothers of these groups complete `Parenting Stress Index`, `Beck Depression Inventory`, `Parenting sense of competence`. The parenting stress and depression are significantly higher on the mothers of the ADHD group and the emotional disorder group comparing with the mothers of the normal group of children. Parenting sense of competence as the subscales of parenting efficacy is significantly lower on the mothers of emotional disorder group of children, however, a significant difference is not found between the mothers of ADHD children and the mothers of normal children. In parenting sense of anxiety, the mothers of ADHD children are higher than the mother of normal children. In the correlation analysis of parenting stress, depression, patenting efficacy, the higher parenting stress, the higher depression and parenting sense of anxiety. The higher depression, the lower parenting sense of competence and the higher parenting sense of anxiety. However the higher severity of ADHD symptoms the more parenting stress, depression and parenting sense of anxiety.
