The purpose of this study is to find out, the ways of parent`s teaching method on reading and writing to kindergarten age groups at home. And it is studied the correlation between Taegu city and Waegwan children`s ability of reading and writing and parent`s teaching method. By finding the correlation, the study identified what is the most suitable teaching method for children. The study problems are as follows: 1. How much the difference children reading and writing ability by regional groups ? 2. What are the parents expectation and children interest in reading ? 3. How about the letter education time by regional groups ? 4. The difference what are the teaching materials and tools most often used by parents regional groups ? In order to answer above questions, survey questions were distributed to a total of 200 parents, 100 parents respectively for children living rights group of a big city and town. Collect datas were operated x2-test. Following are the study results: 1. The town groups showed children reading and writing ability very in different localities. Namely from big city group more high ability than to town group. 2. Parents expection of reading and writing there is no difference the mother`s schooling and regional groups. Children are interests in letters more the high girls than the boys. 3. There is no difference the letter education time according to the mother`s schooling and regional groups. 4. In home teaching letter books are in use equally relative. The guide books are in general use. Also pencils are most popular for writing tools.
