The aim of this study is to find out the desirable way of the early childhood educ ation of korea in 21th century by reilluminating philosophical view about the early -childhood education of John Dewey. Dewey insist in consistency that the most impor tant purpose for kindergarten education should lie in the creation of good educatio nal setting which can make much progress in cultivating the whole person. In order to realize a good educational environment for kindergarten, the understan ding and taking care of children with care must be in advance of that. With this point of view, Dewey emphasizes that no other educational levels in reedueating teac hers are as important as the early childhood education. As this point of korea education which just enlarges the early childhood education in quality following the lack of quality of that, Dewey`s enlightenment about the early c-hildhood education gives us an apportunity to reconsider the desirable way to make a development in kindergarten education in good quality in this coming 21 century.
