The purpose of this study was to investigate the changes of physical and chemical properties in compost during aerobic composting{poultry manure without sawdust (NPS), poultry manure mixed with sawdust(PS)}. Physical and chemical properties were determined on the samples which were collected at various stages of composting(5, 15, and 25 days, of the experiments). The pH ranged 8.75∼9.29 in NPS and 7.77∼9.31 in PS. The pH level increased from 5 days to 25 days, but decreased after 25 days both in NPS and in PS. Moisture content was significantly decreased both NPS and PS. Moisture contents of final products were 15.97% in NPS and 47.23% in PS. However, Moisture content in NPS was more rapidly decreased than that in PS. Ammonium nitrogen content in NPS decreased faster than that in PS, and nitrate nitrogen content in NPS increased faster than that of PS. C/N ratio in NPS and PS were shown 12.21 and 22.12 at the final products, respectively. The properties of fertilizer varied with aerobic composting process both in NPS and in PS.
