In the analysis of genetic constitution of Korean native and other improved pigs(Landrace, Yorkshire, Duroc) using DNA fingerprinting(DFP), Korean native pig was identified 3∼5 specific markers in DFP with 3 kinds of DNA probe(M13, YNZ22, and MO-1). Band sharing value within breed of the Korean native pigs was found similar to those of the improved, and the Korean native pig had long genetic distance from the other breeds. Therefore it is suggested that Korean native pig be unique genetic population with genetic stability and without genetic relationship with any other breed.
