Incidence of diseases in old persons and senile complaints of apparently healthy old persons in nursing homes were studied. 1. Predominant diseases in old persons were hypertension(especially systolic), cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral thrombosis, cerebral arteriosclerosis, heart failure due to atheriosclerosis, angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, chronic bronchitis, emphysema, lung cancer, diabetes mellitus, degenerative arthritis and cataracta. 2. Frequent senile complaints in apparently healthy old pesons in nursing homes were general weakness, amnesia, headache, dizziness, low back pain and palpitation. Insomnia, cough and sputum were predominant in male and poor activity, headache, dizziness, arthralgia, muscleache, low backpain and palpitation were predominant in female.
