목적 : Hydroxyapatite 안와삽입물 이식술에서 삽입물의 피복물로 bovine pericardium 가공물의 유용성을 알아보고자 하였다. 대상과 방법 :1998년 10월부터 2000년 5월까지 14명 14안에서 hydroxyapatite구의 피복물로, bovine pericardium 가공물(Lyoplant(R))을 이용하여 hydroxyapatite 안와 삽입물을 시행하고, 술 후 합병증, 섬유 혈관화, 운동성을 평가하였다. 결과 : Bovine pericardium은 장력, 유연성, 봉합 특성 등의 물리적인 성질이 좋았고, 5안 8예에서 합병증이 발생하였으나 삽입물 노출 등의 심각한 합병증은 없었다. 섬유혈관화와 삽입물이나 의안의 운동성도 만족할 만한 결과를 얻었다. 결론 :Bovine pericardium 가공물은 hydroxyapatite 안와삽입물 이식술에서 삽입물의 피복물로 효과적인 물질이라 생각된다.〈한안지 939-949, 2001〉

Purpose : To investigate the usefulness of a processed bovine pericardium(Lyoplant(R)) as a wrapping material for hydroxyapatite orbital implant. Methods : The authors carried out hydroxyapatite orbital implantation with a processed bovine pericardium(Lyoplant(R)) as a wrapping material for hydroxyapatite sphere in 14 enucleation cases from October 1998 to May 2000, and evaluated postoperative complications, fibrovascular ingrowth and implant or prosthesis motility. Results : Physical properties of bovine pericardium, such as tensile strength, flexibility, suture characteristics, were good. Complications were developed in 8 cases(5 eyes), but there was no serious complication such as an implant exposure. Fibrovascular ingrowth and implant or prosthesis motility were satisfactory. Conclusion : The authors suggest bovine pericardium(Lyoplant(R)) as an effective wrapping material for hydroxyapatite orbital implant. J Korean Ophthalmol Soc 42(7):939-949, 2001
