ASIT (Advanced Systematic Inventive Thinking) has been newly introduced as a knowledge-based tool for creative problem solving. It is often regarded as a simplified version of TRIZ. The core concept and basic procedure of ASIT method are examined in this paper. In addition, the differences between conventional creativity techniques, TRIZ and ASIT are discussed.
