본 연구는 한 단위로서의 가족의 구성원들간 관계 정도를 평가하는 도구를 개발하기 위한 연구이다. 기존에 사용되고 있는 가족관련 척도들은 대부분 외국에서 개발된 것으로 국내에서 번역하여 사용하고 있으며, 과학적이고 체계적인 신뢰도와 타당도의 검증과정 없이 단순 번역되어 사용되는 경우가 많다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존의 척도중에서 가족응집력, 가족강점, 가족관계 등의 지표 및 척도의 내용을 토대로 문항을 구성한 후 세 단계의 분석과정을 통해 타당도, 신뢰도, 그리고 변별력을 가진 척도를 개발하였다. 1단계는 요인분석을 통해 예비척도를 만드는 과정이었으며, 2단계에서는 1단계에서 만들어진 예비척도를 탐색적 요인분석을 통해 1차 확정 척도를 구성하였고, 3단계에서는 이 척도의 구성을 확인하는 확인적 요인분석을 통해 최종 척도를 확정하였으며, 상관관계 분석을 통하여 변별력 정도를 확인하였다. 최종 확정된 「가족관계척도」는 Cronbach`s α계수 0.9305로 신뢰도 높은 척도이며, 정서·친밀, 인정·책임, 그리고 수용·존중의 3개 요인으로 구성되었고, 총 24개 문항이 포함되었다. 최종 척도의 요인구조검증을 위한 확인적 요인분석에서도 부합지수가 모두 높게 나와 내용타당도 및 구성타당도가 높으며, 단일차원성이 좋은 것으로 검증되었다. 또한 최종 척도의 표준추정치를 위한 분석에서도 몇 개를 제외한 계수가 대부분 0.6∼0.7로 높았으며, 유의도도 모두 p<.001로 매우 유의미한 결과를 보여 모형의 적합도가 검증되었다. 따라서 본 연구에서 구성된 「가족관계척」도 는 사회변화에 부응하는 건강하고 기능적인 가족의 관계를 측정하는 적합하고 타당하며 신뢰있는 도구임이 입증된 것이다. 그럼에도 불구하고 이 척도는 다양한 대상자 및 가족에게 반복 적용하여 연구함으로써 지속적인 수정과 보완 작업을 해야 할 것이며, 이를 통해 측정오차를 최대한 줄일 수 있는, 변별타당도 높은 이상적인 척도로 완성될 수 있을 것이다.

This study is about the development of a family relationship scale. The scales is to measure the degree of the family member`s interaction and relationship as a unit. Currently, most of the scales used for research are the translated ones without systematic analysis for validity or reliability. Thus, this study extracted the items from previous research findings, the scales, and the indices, and examined the validity through explorative factor analysis and then confirmatory factor analysis. The analyses were consisted three phases: one is to develop a pre-scale; two is to examine the pre-scale and finalize a model scale; and three is to confirm the final model scale as a valid scale. The scale of 24 items was constructed with three dimensions with high reliability coefficient of 0.9305. The first dimension is `love and care` with 11 items; the second is `recognition and responsibility` with 7 items; and the third is `acceptance and respect` with 6 items. All the analyses revealed that the structure of the model scale was fit and valid with high significance level. Thus, the Family Relationship Scale developed in this study was proved valid and reliable to measure a healthy and functioning family relationship varying through social changes.
