Eeok Park(1937-2000), who was an important musician of Busan city, died at April lst, last year. He worked through life as a conductor, a player, and also as a composer. Especially, Eeok Park devoted his life to wind orchestra. He established three big wind orchestra, that is Busan Symphonic Band Orchestra, Myungusng symphonic Band Orchestra, and Busan Police Wind Orchestra, and made a decisive contribution to introducing marching band in Korea. Eeok Park worked for several important musical organizations such as Korea Band Association(KBA) as a vice president, Bussan Branch of KBA as a president, and Korea Marching Band Directors Association(KMBDA) as a chairman of a board of directors. Conclusively, Eeok Park was a glorious and proud musician of Busan. He was born, educated in Busan, and lived through his life in Busan. But he played a nationwide role in Korean music culture as well as a local role in Busan music culture. He was a leading hero in the history of wind music of Busan in the second half of the 20th century.
