The main purpose of this study is to present data, which would enrich current scholarship, and to suggest viable study methods for succeeding studies. This study will explore a variety of problems and will present complementary measures to prevent and remedy the current child abuse phenomenon in South Korea. A content analysis method is applied to analyze the theses of existing Child Abuse studies in order to facilitate better understanding of common approaches to the issue. The subjects of inquiry is comparison S. Korean and international scholarship trends on child abuse. The study is explicated by content analysis form that engages with a critical analysis of documents regarding child abuse. The subject of analysis is categorized by both domestic and international research into an examination of scholarly theses. The research will focus on the period stretching between 1994 and 2000. A similar line of academic inquiry titled "The Research Trends of Child Abuse in Korea" utilized a catalogue of documents involving the critical analysis of child abuse from 1975 through 1993. The six points of analysis are : 1. Concept, Definition and Pattern; 2. Research Method; 3. Development; 4. Cause; 5. Actual State; 6. Countermeasures.
