Cryptococcosis is a subacute and chronic mycotic infection caused by Cryptococcus neoformans. The recent rise in incidence of the disease can be attributable to the wide use of corticosteroid organ transplantations and autoimmune diseases as well as tie advent of acquired immune deficiency syndrome.
