A 31-year old woman had one week history of vomit- ing, weakness and abdominal discomfort. She denied ingestion of diuretics. Clinical and laboratory findings were consisted with Bartters syndrome in the adult. Normal bood pressure, hypokalemic metabolic al- kalosis, hyperreninemia and hyperaldosteronism were present. Furosemide was detected in the urine, utilizing Doping Test. Surreptitious ingestion of diuretics must be excluded in any adult in whom a diagnosis of Bartters syndrome is considered.
