In the upper gastrointestinal bleeding, bleeding from the esophageal varices in patients with portal hypertension and cirrhosis is not uncommon. Bleeding from duodenal varix is the rare complication of portal hypertension, however, we must keep in mind the possibility. Duodenal varices were first reported in 1931, by Alberti. W., subsequently, only less than 30 cases has been reported in the English literature. In this case, we found 42 years old female patient who had the only duodenal varices with liver cirrhosis and showed the repetitive upper gastrointestinal bleeding without massive hemorrhage, and we emphasize the importance of endoscopy and hypotonicduodenography in establishing the diagnosis.
