Clinically, Spitz nevi usually appear as asymptomatic, dome-shaped, round to oval, firm nodules with a wide spectrum of colors ranging from translucent to purple, brown or black. The degree of pigmentation varies with the age of the patient and more darkly pigmented lesions are rare in children. Herein, we report an unusual case of pigmented Spitz nevus in a 7-year-old boy, which clinically resembles malignant melanoma. (Korean J Dermatol 1999: 37(7): 963-963)
