Pityriasis rotunda is a rare disease and characterized by perfect or oval brownish scaly patches 0. 5 to 28cm in diameter and varying in number from one to 20 on trunk and extremities. The lesions become worse during the winter and improve in summer. It is considered to be acquired ichthyosis. The patient with pityriasis rotunda visited to Dermatologic Dept. of Capital Armed Forecs General Hospital in February, 1974. The result of clinicopathological findings observed in above patient were presented. Since 8 years ago, a 23 year old Korean soldier has suffered from round scaly patches on low abdomen, and the lesions were gradually increased in number. There were no history of tuberculosis or other systemic diseases. The histopathological picture showed hyperkeratosis and acanthosis in epidermis, and perivascular lymphocytic infiltrations in dermis.
