to evaluate the practical status for dietary prescription in the out-patient diabetics, we assessed the 3day food records completed by them. Findings are summarized as follows: 1) The subjects were total 89 diabetics; male female 24, the range of age was from 18 to 68 years. (mean 53 years). 2) Total daify calorie intake was satisfactory in 62% tolerable in 30%, hopeless in 8% of the total diabetics 3) Mean daily calorie deficits were 187Cal in male 223Cal in female. 4) The most common kinds of deficient food were fruit, followed by milk in male milk, fish and meat in female. 5) The daily amount of vegetable intake was 369 per day, which was 1.6 times larger than the averag amout in general urban population. 6) The cereal intake showed 25% excess compared with the prescribed amount. 7) There was fewer deficits of fat intake in male than in female.
