Arteriovenous malformation of the uterus is extremely rare and is potentially lethal because profuse, uncontrollable bleeding may occur with diagnostic dilatation & curettage. This malformation may be congenital or acquired and abnormal uterine bleeding is most common clinical presentation. The diagnosis may be made by hysteroscopy, pelvic angiography, doppler flow ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, but is usually made retrospectively after hysterectomy. We have experienced one case of arteriovenous malformation of the uterus, which is presented with a brief review of the literatures.
