풍선판막 성형술은 승모판 협착증의 치료에 수술요법을 대치할 수 잇는 치료법으로 최근 널 리 이용되고 있다. 저자들은 승모판 협착증을 가진 임산부에서 임신말기에 풍선판막 성형술 을 시행하여 합병증 없이 성공적으로 분만을 하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

The burden of pregnancy in patients with severe mitral stenosis continues to present a therapeutic challenge. A 23- year old woman at 36 weeks gestation wa discovered to have previously undiagnosed severe mitral stenosis. Not responding to medical therapy, she underwent percutaneous ballon mitral valvotomy(PMV) using inouer ballon catheter, which resolved her symptoms completely. She delivered a healthy infant at 38 weeks gestation. the unique of PMV may render it the technique of choice for selected pregnant patients with severe mitral stenosis.
