1990년 9월부터 1991년 5월까지 원주기독병원 산부인과에 입원한 자궁경부암 환자중 화학요법이나 방사선요법을 받았던 과거력이 없고, 육안하에서 암조직을 쉽게 채취할 수 있었던 편평상피암으로 진단된 20예를 대상으로 신피막하 종양이식분석법(SRCA-6 day assay)을 시행하여 다음과 같은 결과를 얻었다. 1. 항암제 투여후 독성을 예측할 수 있는 체중감소에서 cisplatin+5-fluorouracil, cisplatin, adriamycin이 중등도의 체중감소를 보였다. 2. 대조군 생쥐 92마리에 이식된 종양에서 75%가 0.5 OMU이상의 양성성장하였으며 대조군 20예 모두에서 분석가능하였다. 3. 자궁경부 편평상피암에 대한 항암제의 감수성은 cisplatin 57.8%(11/19), 5-fluorourail 64.7%(11/17), bleomycin 40.0(4/10), cyclophospamide 60.0%(6/10), adriamycin 25%(2/8), vinblastine sulfate 50.0%(3/6), methotrexate 60.0%(3/5), cisplatin+5-fluorouracil 76.9%(10/13)이었다. 4. 5-fluorouracil, cisplatin+fluorouracil, cisplatin 투여군에서 평균△TS가 약-3.0OMU로 이식종양의 크기가 비교적 많이 감소하였다. 이상의 결과는 몇몇 항암제가 단독 또는 복합 사용시 자궁경부 편평상피암에 감수성을 보였으며, 자궁경부암 환자중에서 화확요법의 필요성이 있을 때 SRCA는 가장 효과적인 항암제를 선택하여 개개인의 치료에 유용히 사용될 수 있는 검사중 하나라고 사료된다.

Surgery and radiotherapy improved the survial rate in early stage localized cervical cancer. However, far advanced and recurrent cervical cancer have shown little improvement in results. Systemic treatment with chemotherapy offers hope for control. Experimental and clinical trials with chemotherapeutic agents whow effectiveness against cervical cancer. Six-day SRCA using normal incompetent mice developed by Bogden et al. is a promising in vivo chemosensitivity test. The tumors from 20 patients with previous untreated cervical squamous cell carcinoma were studied by the SRCA for chemosensitivity an all were evaluable. Cisplatin administration produced a response in 11/19(57.8%), 5-fluorouracil in 11/17(64.7%), blemyocin in 4/10(40.0%), cyclophosphamide in 6/10(60.0%), adriamycin in 2/8(25.0%), vinblastine sulfate in 3/6(50.0%), and methotrexate in 3/5(60.0%). Used in combination cisplatin +5-fluorouracil was effective in 10/13(76.9%). It is considered that the SRCA aids to assess the effectiveness of chemotherapy and is useful in planning of chemotherapy for selected patients.
