저자들은 자궁근종과 자궁선근증 환자의 수술전 감별진단의 한 방법으로 혈청중 CA125값을 측정비교하여 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다. 1. 정상부인의 평균 혈청 CA125값은 16.92 11.15 u/ml이었으며, 자궁근종에서는 14.60 6.70 u/ml, 자궁선근중에서는 121.59 92.06 u/ml, 복합군에서는 25.26 14.04 /ml를 보였다. 2. 혈청 CA125값의 하한선을 35 u/ml로 정할때, 양성예는 정상부인에서 6.6%, 자궁근종에서는 5%, 자궁선근증에서는 96%, 복합군에서는 15.4%를 보였다. 3. 자궁선근증 환자의 혈청 CA125값은 정상부인 및 자궁근종, 복합군에 비하여 통계학적으로 유의하게 높았다(P<0.01)
CA125 is a tumor-associated antigen recognized by a monoclonal antibody, OC125, which was produced following immunization of mice with an ovarian cancer cell line and a radioimmunoassay has been developed to detect antigen levels in the serum of ovarian cancer patients. Using this assay, we measured serum levels of CA125 in patients with gynecologic common uterine tumor(40 of leiomyomata uteri, 25 of adenomyosis and 13 of adenomyosis with leiomyomata uteri) to differentiate pre-operatively between leiomyomata uteri and adenomyosis. The following results were obtained. 1. The mean CA125 level (Mean SD, u/ml) was 16.92 11.15 in normal healthy controls, 14.60 6.70 in patients with leiomyomata uteri, 121.59 92.06 in those with adenomyosis, and 25.26 14.04 for complex groups. 2. Positive rates for CA125, when the reference value was set at 35 /ml, were 6.6% for normal healthy controls, 8% for leiomyomata uteri, 96% for adenomyosis, and 15.4% for complex groups. 3. CA125 level in patients with adenomyosis were statistically higher than that in normal healthy controls and leiomyomata uteri and complex troups(P<0.01)
