정신질환이 동반된 두 임산부에게 정신질환의 치료를 위하여 임신도중에 전기충격요법을 시행한 후 만삭 때 정상태아를 분만한 예를 2예 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 더불어 보고하는 바이다.

The effect of electroconvulsive therapy on the psychotic pregnant woman have not been prospectively evaluated. But the current case reports in other countries support the relative safety of electroconvulsive therapy in pregnancy when the patient is carefully selected and monitored, and electroconvulsive therapy has a minimal effect, if any, on the fetus. We report two cases of psychotic women who were given electroconvulsive therapy during pregnancy and delivered full-term, developmentally normal babies.
