저자들은 45세여성에서 매우 드물게 발생하는 질평활근종 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌적 고찰 과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

The neoplasms of vagina is divided into two categories. One is cystic and the other is solid. The leiomyoma of the vagina is solid type tumor and very rare. The earliest report to a myoma occuring in the vagina is that of Denys de Leyden who described a fibrous tumor of the vagina in 1733. In the past the terms fibromyoma , myofibroma, and fibroid were used to describe this lesion; however in view of the generally accepted opinion that it is of muscle-tissues origin myoma or more exactly leiomyoma is considered the correct term. Leiomyoma of the vagina is usually single and only occasionally multiple; more than half occur in the anterior wall. The majority of these tumors measure approximately 3 to 4 cm and asymptomatic. A case of a 45 year old woman with a leiomyoma of the vagina which was experienced in our hospital recently, is presented with a review of literatures.
