Pseudomxoma peritonei is a rare clinical syndrome of massive accumulation of gelatinous ascites without lymphatic, hepatic parenchymal, and extraperitoneal spread resulting from a ruptured mucin-producing lesion of any origin such as ovarian cyst, appendical mucocele, primary carcinoma of the uterian corpus, mucinous adenocarcinoma of the bowel, etc. We experienced the pseudomyxoma peritonei and the appendical mucocele originating from the mucinous cystadenoma of borderline malignancy in unilateral ovary with rupture and a case of pseudomyxoma peritonei is presented with a brief review of the concerned literatures.
