PGF2a를 정상 만삭임신부인 초산부 19명과 경산부 34명 모두 53예를 대상으로 정맥내에 희석점적하여 유도분만을 실시하고 그 결과를 임상적으로 분석 검토하였다. 1. 유도 분만 53예중 그 성공율은 94%로서 초산부에서 90% 경산부에서는 98%였다. 2. 조기파수된 예에서는 실패율이 6.8%였다. 3. Pelvic score가 높은 용이군(6∼16)에서는 실패한 예가 전혀 없었고 Pelvic score 가0∼5인 곤란군에서는 유도분만 실패율은 16.7%였다. 그리고 Pelvic score와 유도분만 시간은 초산부 및 경산부에서 모두 상관계수가 각각 r=-0.97, r=-0.91로 역상관관계를 나타냈다. 4. 정맥내 희석 점적주입을 실시한 시간으로부터 자궁수축이 나타난 시간까지는 초산부에서 최장 1시간 40분, 최단 5분 평균 21분이였으며 경산부에서 최장 1시간 최단 5분 평균 25분 으로 전예에서는 평균23분이었다. 5. 유도분만에 소요된 PGF₂α의 용량은 초산부에서 최대 6.880㎍, 최소 520㎍, 평균 2,850 ㎍이였고 경산부에서 최대 5,200㎍ 최소 200㎍으로 전체 평균은 1,750㎍이었다. 6. 진통이 유발된 시간으로부터 태아 만출시까지의 유도분만 전체소요시간은 초산부에서 최장 10시간 15분 최단 1시간 50분 평균 5시간 33분이며 경산부에서는 최장 8시간 30분 최단 1 시간 30분으로 평균 3시간 32분이었다. 7. PGF₂α유도분만으로 인한 이완성 산후 출혈은 6%에서 볼 수 있었다. 8. PGF₂α의 유도분만중 발생한 안면조홍은 5예였었고 오심 및 구토가 3예에서 있었으며 그 정도는 아주 경미하였고 별다른 처리없이 분만을 진행시킬 수 있었다. 9. 유도분만으로 출생한 신생아의 Apgar score는 출산후 첫 1분에서 모두 8이상으로 태아건 강에 아무런 이상이 없었다. 이상의 결과로 미루어 보아 Prostaglandin F₂α에 의한 정맥내 점적주입을 분당4.0㎍씩으 로 시작하여 유도분만을 하면 Pelvic score가 6이상이거나 조기파수예에서는 안전하고 효과적으로 성공시킬 수 있었다.

It has been well known that prostaglandins E and F are effective in uterine contraction on both pregnant and nonpregnant uterus, Since 1969 when Karim reported that prostaglandin F₂αwas effective in induction of labor, many researches have been published with different results because of different route of adminiftration, different dosage or standard of observation. A clinical study was carried out to know clinical reaction of prostaglandin F2a for induction of labor. Induction of labor was performed in 53 women who were on 36 to 44 weeks of normal gestation. The prostaglandin F2a was administered by continuous intravenous drip infusion started from dosage of 4.0ug per minute. The results were as follows: 1. Induction failed on 10.53% of primiparas, in 2.94% of multiparas, and overall failure ra te was 5.66% on the average. 2. Failure rate on cases with in cases with intact membrane was 14.28% in pimiparas, 3, 33% in multiparas, and 0% in the group of premature rupture of membrane. 3. Failure rate in the group with pelvic score 0-5 was 33.33% in primiparas, 8.33% in multiparas, and overall failure rate was 16.67% while 0% in the easy group with pelvic score 6 or more. 4. Lag period was 21 minutes in primiparas and 25 minutes in multiparas on the average. 5. Total doses of prostaglandin F₂ used for induction of labor were 2,850mg in primipar as and 1,752mg in multiparas. 6. Mean labor hours were 5.55 hours in primiparas and 3.53 hours in multiparas. 7. Postpartum atonic bleeding was 6% after induction of labor with prostaglandin F₂ 8. Side effects of prostaglandin F2a were mild in few cases : Facial flusing, nausea and vomiting were disappeared without specific treatment. 9. Newborn babys` conditions were excellent with Apgar score over 8 in one minute of their age.
