Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura is a rare complication of pregnancy. Authors presented a case of I.T.P. in pregnancy which was found after repeat C-section. In the postoperative period, transfusion of 7 pints of whole blood, and 500mg of Solu- cortef in 1000cc of 5% D/W were requited to maintain blood pressure within satisfactory levels. But abdominal distension was increased gradually and continuous oozing occured from incision site of the skin. On exploratory laparotomy, about 3000cc of fresh blood and blood clots were found in the abdominal cavity and continuous oozing from C-section site of the lower segment, diffuse blood infiltration in the bladder wall. Subtotal hysterectomy was performed because of unco- ntrolled bleeding from C-section sith. On postoperative 8th day, under the impression of the suppurative hemoperitoneum, re-explolaparotomy was decided again. She was treated with transfusion of the 28 pints of fresh and whole blood, prednisolone and antibiotics. The literature have been reviewed on this subject
