성숙처녀백서를 자궁척출후 성주기와 난소의 조직변화를 술후 제2주말, 제4주말에 관찰한 결과. (1) 수술후 발정개시에 요하는 일수는 평균 10.45일로서 지연되었다. (2) 수술후, 성주기는 불규칙하여진다. (3) 수술후, 발정지속을 하는 경향이 있다. (4) 수술후 성숙난포, 황체형성이 활발하다. (5) Prehormone 을 주사한 백서는 특히 난포혈종이 현저히 출현한다.

In view of the divergent opinions about the ovarian function in hysterectomized women, experimlntal studies were performed on mature rats, weighing from 130 grams to 200 grams. Morphological studies of ovaries and changes in estrus cycles were observed for the period of two to four weeks following hysterectomies. In hysterectomized rats regular estrus cycles had been ascertained prior to the surgical procedures by daily evaluations of vaginal smears. Results are as following: (1) Recurrences of estrus cycles were observed in 10 days and half following hysterectomies. (2) Irregularity of estrus cycles were present in hysterectomized rats. (3) In a considerable numbers of hysterectomized rats prolonged estrus stages were observed. (4) Following hysterectomy, apparent growth of mature follicles and corpora lutea were noted within four weeks. (5) In cases anterior pituitary hormones were administered parenterally for the period of ten days, hemorrhagic follicles were markedly present.
