The poeeible eHeets of some oriental 6erbe, which have been need to treat cancerllte disease in Horea, on growth and aflato~n production by Asperylllw ppraaiticw R-716 were investigated. Pedoaria rJrtroneaL Gvrctoaa lotrp perw rottuulra, Angelica piyae, Pbeonia albiRoro, Ptreonia tnotottan, Atractylia ooata, snd PJtlaotlila koreans were etruted with chloroform. Among them the ezttact of Pbeortia tnotmtatt wea remartably effective on the growth inhibition, and Gltrcmna lonpa Zedoaria rhizome. Gpertta rottmdrra, Ptreo~nia albiflora, Atractylia oaota also inhibited the growth. The eztract of Atractylia ooata snd bona lonpa, also Inhibited the aflatodn production but the others showed no effect at all or eometimea stimulated effect. Wlth the addition of 0.2m1 eitract of AtractyUa oaata In 30m1 SL3 medium, the growth was delayed for about 2 days, and after 9 days, myeeliam weight was 0.9538, and total atlaton was reduced 50%(792g)ot that produced in the control(1547g). Mato:in per mycelium weight was decreased 32(992frg) of that produced in the control(1467ug), but NADPH ozidaee was higher as compared to the control. The extract of Atraotylia opata appeared to have a inhibitory effect on the growth and the aflatodn production of Aaperyt Urrs paraattletta R-16.
