The K1 and K2 catalysts were prepared by ourselves in order to develop the hydrophobic platinum catalyst for the hydrogen isotope exchange reaction. The various experiments were conducted for the comparison of the efficiency of those catalysts with the JC catalyst which was the commerical catalyst developed in Japan. The results of the hydrogen adsorption experiment showed that the platinum dispersion of the K1 was 1.1 but the K2 and JC had similar values of 0.6. The reactivity of the catalysts for the hydrogen isotope exchange reaction was tested under the boiling point of water. The experimental results showed that the K1 had higher activity for the hydrogen isotope exchange reaction than JC and the activity of K2 was much lower than that of K1 and JC.
