The purpose of this study is to examine the impact of marriage ceremony in super-deluxe hotel business. Government regulated deluxe hotel`s business on marriage ceremony for some reasons in Korea. On August 9, 1999, the government lifted it`s ban on business of super-deluxe hotels. All hotel business for marriage ceremony was opened on April, 1999 except Super-deluxe hotels. Data was collected from the super-deluxe hotels which held the marriage ceremony during 5 months from August, 1999 to December 1999. Interview with concerned was examined and total 9 cases was chosen with basic and sales data. According to sales data and interview, marriage ceremony have more influence on banquet, food and beverage revenue than room and parking revenue. Followings are the suggestions of this study. First, deregulation on hotel business needed for competition in globalization era. Second, cooperation for deregulation between hotels and government was strongly suggested. Third, all negative impacts which government concerned in deregulation have to put into public hearing in advance so the unnecessary deregulation on hotel business will be decreased timely.
