Catalytic reduction of carbon dioxide by using propane over Ni/α-Al₂O₃ catalysts was carried out in a continuous fixed bed reactor. Ni/α-Al₂O₃ showed comparitively high catalytic activity for CO₂ + C₃H_8 reaction. But catalytic activity was drastically decreased with time. Ni/α-Al₂O₃ catalyat promoted with alkali and alkali-earth mertal showed higher stability to deactivation.
