Carbon granules were prepared with coconut powder and coal tar solution, and several samples were prepared by varying carbonization temperature. The density of the granules and gas adsorption experiments were undertaken for each sample. Through the carbonization process in nitrogen and benzene atmosphere, the variation of the micropores was studied. The effect of carbonization temperature and modifier on the preparation of carbon molecular sieve were analyzed.
