Poly vinyl chloride(PVC)에 각종 안료를 첨가하여 Weather-Ometer로 촉진열화시킨 후, 착색된 안료가 시료의 내후거동에 미치는 영향을 고찰하였다. 기계적 특성, 전기적 특성 및 색상 변화의 측정결과로 열화상태를 고찰한 결과 미착색 PVC 시료와 유기안료인 anthraquinone blue를 함유한 시료는 급격히 열화되었으나, 무기안료인 Cd-yellow, Cd-red 및 카본블랙은 광보호작용에 의해 열화가 지연됨을 알았다. 이러한 현상은 촉진열화된 시료를 Ion Chromatography로 염소이온을 정량함으로써 확인할 수 있었다.
The influence of pigment on the weatherability of poly(vinyl chloride) compositions containing various pigments was investigated. Degradation resulting from accelerated weathering was investigated in terms of mechanical properties, electrical properties and color changes. It was shown that the weatherability of the non-pigmented PVC specimens and PVC specimens containing anthraquinone blue exhibited relatively poor, whereas PVC specimens containing cadmium yellow, cadmium red pigments and carbon black exhibited photo protection. these results were confirmed with analysis of chloride ion content of weathered samples by means of Ion Chromatography.
