현대사회는 디지털의 발전과 그에 따르는 디지털 문화의 영향에 의해 급변하고 있는 문화적 과도기에 위치하고 있다. 다양한 형태로 접근하고 있는 디지털 문화는 현실세계와 커다란 차이를 가진다. 하지만 이러한 차이에도 디지털 문화는 급속한 속도로 우리의 문화속으로 스며들고 있다. 디지털 문화는 기존의 문화와 비교하여 개방적 그리고 상호 교류의 문화적 특성을 가진다. 즉 문화의 구성원 모두가 정보의 제공자이자 이용자로서 문화에 참여한다는 사실이다. 대중예술로서의 일러스트레이션이 갖는 사회적 영향력을 살펴볼 때, 일러스트레이션을 통해 나타난 무수한 이미지 중에서 여성과 관련된 이미지는 다른 대중매체에서 나타나는 여성 이미지와 함께 여성에 대한 사회적 위상 형상과 진단에 지대한 영향을 끼치게 된다. 일반적으로 폐미니즘은 남성이 주도하는 사회문화 속에서 주류 밖으로 밀려난 `여성`이라는 소외계층을 대변하는 s주의로 인식된다. 최근 일러스트레이션의 사회적 커뮤니케이션 역할이 확대 되는 상황에서 볼 때, 일러스트레이션에서의 폐미니즘적 자각에서 기인한 여성 이미지제시는 보다 주체적이고, 여성의 입장에서 바라보는 새로운 여성상을 제시 할 수 있는 가능성을 가지고 있다. 또한, 다원주의적 세계관을 표방하는 포스트모더니즘 미술과 연계성을 가지고 있는, 그리고 예술의 민주적 존재방식에 하나인 일러스트레이션 분야에 있어서의 여성 이미지 표현에 대한 연구는 그 이념적, 조형적, 분배방식에 대한 전반적인 분석이 요구되는 s분야라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는, 여성에 대한 조형적이 svygus의 과정을 서구의 시각예술 전반에 나타난 여성 이미지에 대한 역사적 고찰을 통해 알아보았으며, 이것을 통해, 서구의 시각예술에서는 남성의 입장에서 `시각적 대상물`로서의 여성 표현이 대부분이었음을 알 수 있었다. 현대 일러스트레이션에 나타난 여성 이미지를 내용 위주로 일반적으로 구분해 보면, 에로틱 이미지, 유머러스 이미지, 나이브 이미지, 파워풀 이미비, 리얼리티적 이미지로 분류하여 폐미니즘에 있어서의 두 가지 실천 경향 즉, 분리주의적 경향과 사회문화 주의적 경향의 폐미니즘을 근거로 하여 살펴본 결과, 여타 사회 현상에서의 표출방식과 마찬가지로 남성 주체적 사회에서의 대상적 존재로 묘사되어, 반폐미니즘적 요소가 깊이 개입되어 있음을 알 수 있었다. 이러한 양상은 대부분 사회 구조 내에서의 역사적으로 축적된 여성에 대한 고정관념에 기인한 경우가 많았으며, 그리하여 사회적으로 폐미니즘의 시각에 입각하여 여성과 여성의 상황에 관한 관심이 대두되고 또한 예술활동을 중심으로 페미니즘 일러스트레이션의 출현은 시대적 요구라 할 수 있다. 현대 일러스트레이션에 있어서의 폐미니즘 적용방안을 제시해 보면 첫째로, 성 역할이 확대된 여성상인 앤드로지너스적 인간형에 대한 조형적 표현을 추구하는 일러스트레이션 둘째로, 리얼리즘의 맥을 이어온 현대의 리얼리즘 예술운동에 근거한 일러스트레이션에 있어서 여성의 리얼리티 표현에 중점을 둔, 리얼리즘 예술속에서의 폐미니즘 일러스트레이션을 들 수 있다. 이러한 이미지 적용의 주체는 생산자인 일러스트레이터 자신이어야 하여, 일러스트레이터들은 여성의 리얼리티와 폐미니즘에 대한 자각을 필요로한다.

Modern society is located at cultural transition period which is changing rapidly by the development of digital and the influence of digital culture to be based on it. That the concept of actual space and virtual space is being used through mixture while it fails to be settled is out actuality located in the center of culture. Digital culture which is approaching in diverse forms has great difference from actual world. Digital culture has mutually exchangeable cultural feature which is open in comparison with existing culture. That is, it means that all the members of culture participate in culture as the pfferers and users information. When we examine the social effect of illustration as a popular art, among countless images that are introduced by illustration, the images concerned with women have a critical effect on the formation of women`s social influence with other images that appear in mass media. Generally, feminism is conceived as an ism that speaks for the women whose lives are alienated from the culture of male-domiated societs. When the recent situation of illustration that estends its role of social communication is inspected, the presentation of women`s image, caused by the teministic self-consciousness, could suggest a new woman type that is more independent and understood from stanpoint. In addition, since apart of illustration is closely related with the post-modern art that advocates world view, the study of expression of women`s image would require an over-all analysis of ideological and formative methods. Thus, this thesis examined about the formative expression of women that apperred in the general western visual art through historical inquiry. And, it was found that in the western visual art the image of women was mostly expressed as a visual object from the viewpoint of men. Modern illustration can be divided into the following types when it is substantially classitied; erotic image, humorous image, naive image, powerful image, and realistic image. After examining the two practical tendencies in feminism that are separatide tendency and socio-cultural tendency feminism, as other societies expressive methods, it was come to known that women were expressed as objective beings is the male-dominated, society where anti-femenism was prevelent. These appearences have been mostly caused by the fixed image of women which is accumulated by the social stereotypes. Thus, the contamporary age demands the emergence of feministic illustration become the concern of the women and their situation is rising due to the femistic consciousnese and the application of feminism by the artistic is becoming more viguous. Two different suggestions could be presented ad a femimistic alternatives in the field of illustration. First alternative emphasis the illustration that seeks and rogenous human type of formative and universal forms. Second, alternative is the feminism illustration in the context for realism art which pointed at the realitic expression of illustration women based on the modern realism art movement. The subject of these application should be illustrator her or himself and they also should acquire self- consciousness of women`s reality and feminism.
