In this study, Fe-3%C-4%Mo-4%Cr-0,1,5,10%(W,V) were investigated on the kinds of carbides, microstucture, solidification process, hardness and wear resistance properties. In the Fe-3%C-4%Mo-4%Cr-X%W alloy system, eutectic M_7C₃, and eutectoid M₃C carbides were crystallized at the martensite matrix interfaces. With increase of amount of W addition, amount of M, C carbide was decreased but amount of M_7C₃carbide was increased. In the Fe-3%C-4%Mo-4%Cr-X%V alloy system, primary MC, eutectic MC, eutectic M_7C₃eutectoid M₃C carbide were crystallized at the martensite matrix interfaces, excepting case of 10%V addition, matrix of 10%V addition was ferrite. With increase of V addition amount, amount of M₃C, M_7C₃carbides were decreased and amount of MC carbide was increased. Hardness was decreased but wear resistance was increased with increase of amount of W, V addition excepting case of 10%V addition.
