Recent interest in austempered ductile iron has led to considerable number of studies on the effects of alloy additions to austempered ductile iron. In this paper, we examine the effects of small Mo additions to section austempered ductile iron on its mechanical properties. It is found that there is a strong dependence of the mechanical properties on the austempering temperature and Mo maginally improves the mechanical properties.
