본 연구에서는 청소년의 유해환경에 대한 접촉 정도와 인지 수준을 알아보고 유해환경의 접촉이 비행과 어떠한 관련이 있는지 알아보고자 한다. 이를 위해 부산시내의 남녀 중 고등학생 784명을 대상으로 조사하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 청소년은 재미, 스트레스 해소 및 적절한 여가시설의 부족이라는 이유로 유해환경을 이용하며, 쉽게 이용할 수 있고 경제적 부담이나 위험부담이 적은 비디오 대여점, 전자오락실, 만화가게를 빈번히 접촉하고 있었다. 반면 사창가, 퇴폐이발소, 음란음성정보와 같이 비용이 많이 들고 해롭다고 인지하는 유해환경은 거의 접촉하지 않았다. 특히 유해매체의 경우 연령이나 학교 종류에 상관없이 접촉하는 정도가 비슷하다는 사실에서 저연령 청소년의 폐해가 심각한 수준이라고 여겨지며 이에 대한 시급한 대책이 절실하다고 본다. 둘째, 학년이 높을수록, 여학생보다 남학생이, 인문계보다 실업계 학생이 유해환경 접촉이 많았다. 또한 가정과 학교에서 가족이 화목하지 못하고 성적이 낮으며 학교생활 적응이 어려운 청소년이 유해환경 접촉이 많았다 이들 변인 가운데 비행에 가장 영향을 미치는 변인은 성별, 학교적응, 성적, 가족화목 순이었다. 셋째, 유해환경에 접촉할수록 대물비행과 지위비행을 일으킬 가능성이 높았다. 유해환경의 접촉은 심각한 대인비행이나 약물비행과는 관계가 없었다. 그러나 지위비행이나 대물비행과의 관련성이 있는 것은 심각한 범죄로 넘어가는 이전 단계의 전조라고 해석된다.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between juvenile delinquency and degree of contact with harmful environment and perceived degree of harmful environment in order to prevent adolescent delinquency. Data were collected by 784 adolescent in Pusan, Korea. Major findings were as follows : 1) The most adolescents were frequently exposed to video shop, entertainment game room, comic books shop which were cheap and less harmful, but hardly exposed to house of illfame and lewd barber`s shop. 2) Adolescent who was boy and older and belongs vocational school shows more contact with harmful environment than those who doesn`t. And adolescent who had harmonious family atmosphere and successful school life could less contact with harmful environment. 3) The more contact with harmful environment, the more juvenile delinquency and vice versa.
