This study was carried out on single crystal growth in the mold-withdrawal type unidirectional solidification. The effects of grain selectors on the microstructural morphology were investigated. A two-dimensional heat transfer model was developed to simulate the relationship between thermal parameters and growth morphology. Single crystal can be grown by proper design of grain selector in this method.
