The purpose of this paper was to consider the epigraph of gymnasiarchal law of Beroea in archeological view point. The Gymnasiarchal inscription on marble, height of 1.72M, erected before B.C. 168 years, and has been preserved inside Beroa Archeological museum. The inscriptions show us on the competence and the obligation of the master of gymnasium(gymnasiarch) in the later Macedonian Ages. The inscription condition of Face A(front face) is not well but Face B(back face) comparatively better. Face A inscriptions include preamble, the oath of newly elected gymnasiarch, the qualifications of the to be elect gymnasiarch, three legislators participating in enacting Assembly for the Gymnasiarchal Law, the purpose of the establishment of this law, the process of this law establishment and promulgation etc. Face B epigraph involves the three grades of gymnasium students, e. g. paides(boys 14-18 yrs), ephebeia (18- 20yrs), neos (young men, , 20-30yir), and the rule of students of Gymnasium rule of fines of the law- offender, rule of neos` isolation from paides, rule of prohibiter from gym obligation of paidotribai(or physical trainer), rule of punishment for the student misbehavior. Besides, we can find the fact on Face B that there was Hermes festival in september, and the contest in good physical health, discipline, endurance of students. Gymnasiarch also elected lampadarches, who supplies oil for 10 days during Hermes Festival. Gymnasiarch should elect jury to perform the various athletics during Hermes festival and should balance the students` funds while in his office. Finally we can get this Gymnasiarchal Law at the highest estimation in that it gives us many resources not only in physical education history but also on education history.
