Some argue that $quot; Is Confucianism religion?$quot; is a meaningless question, for it is not Eastern but Western question. Furthermore, what is important in this context is not `a religion as noun` but `to be religious as adjective,` it is said. But in this paper I argue that the question is still meaningful, that I suggest two different ways to approach this question, that I suggest four criteria by which we can consider X to be religion, and finally that through a comparative discussions of different world religions I conclude that Confucianism is religion. Finally. I discuss briefly Confucian concept of ancestor worship & argue that although it is a clear sign of `transcendence` & yet it is neither beyond the ordinariness nor reject it.
