본 연구의 목적은 유아교육현장의 만 5세 반 유아들이 반편견 주제 중 하나인 "이혼" 에 대해 편견 없이 객관적으로 수용하고 이해할 수 있도록 하는 방안을 모색하고, 적용해 보는 것이다. 접근방법으로 동화책이라는 문학을 매개체로 선정하였으며, 동화 들려주기 후 동화와 관련된 여러 가지 후속활동을 하였다. 문학을 통한 반편견 주제접근방법의 효과를 알아보기 위해 사전면접과 사후면접을 실시하였으며, 그 결과 이혼에 대한 유아들의 이해가 좀 더 분명해진 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 여러 후속활동들을 통해 어렵고 생소했던 "이혼"에 대한 개념 이해를 더욱 쉽게 할 수 있었다. 이러한 이혼에 대한 개념 이해는 유아들에게 여러 가지 사고를 넓히는 계기를 마련해 줄 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 특히 이혼가족에 대한 반편견적 사고를 할 수 있는 기회를 제공할 수 있다.

This study explores the relationship that occurs among teachers, children and children`s literature which promotes anti-bias curriculum concerning divorce. The study is based upon the concept of literary presentation and the concept of anti-bias curriculum which may help people "deal critically and creatively with reality and discover how to participate in the transformation of their world". The participants in the study were twenty-six 5 year old children enrolled at a college campus children`s center. They were interviewed before and after participating in anti-bias activities in connection with 5 anti-bias stories about divorce. Children were asked questions about divorce and teachers were asked to discuss the stories and to do several activities related co them. The study`s results reveal that the use of anti-bias stories can be an effective method in promoting anti-bias curriculum about divorce and that exposure to anti-bias stories influences young children`s perceptions of divorce.
