The main purpose of this study is to compare the educational objectives, the educational contents and the method of teaching and learning, investigating the content of both the 6th kindergarten curriculum which is in force in South Korea from March 1, 2000 and the kindergarten curriculum of Chosun people in China which is in force from August 1, 2000. Though the kindergarten curriculum of Chosun people in China is different from that of South Korea in the educational objectives and the characteristics of kindergarten education, it is very similar with the content of the 5th and 6th kindergarten curriculum of South Korea. In essential aspect there is not much difference between the kindergarten curriculum of South Korea and that of Chosun people in China, but there are several outward differences as follows: 1. The educational objective of a kindergarten in South Korea is to encourage the balanced development of both in body and mind. However, the educational objective of a kindergarten in Chosun people in China is to maximize the female labor mobilization as well as the balanced development of both in body and mind. 2. The kindergarten in South Korea emphasizes to cultivate the basic attitude and ability needed for daily life on account of the fundamental education for the development of kindergarteners` whole personality. However, the kindergarten of Chosun people in China emphasizes to develop the kindergartners` body and mind on account of the preparatory education for entering elementary school. 3. Though the kindergarten curricula of both sides are programmed with the domain of livelihood, the kindergarten curriculum of South Korea emphasizes social and emotional growth and that of Chosun people in China emphasizes cognitive growth. 4. The kindergarten curriculum of Chosun people in China emphasizes the contents of traditional culture education as one national identity in contrast to the kindergarten curriculum of South Korea.
